This month, our focus will be the new informational text reading standards that are a part of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS)
Begining in 3rd grade, students begin making a transition from learning to read to reading to learn. Our students will focus on identifying information in text to ask and answer questions.
How you can help
Parents and families are our greatest strentgh! You can help your child be successful by exposing them to interesting informational texts (online articles, newspapers, magazines and more!) Ask eachother questions as you read and watch your child's understanding of the world around them expand before your eyes!
